The President and the First Lady will welcome the Louisiana State University Tigers Women’s Basketball team and the University of Connecticut Huskies Men’s Basketball team to the White House to celebrate their 2022-2023 NCAA Championship seasons in two ceremonies in the East Room honoring each team’s victory. The Vice President and the Second Gentleman will attend the ceremony honoring the Louisiana State University Tigers Women’s Basketball team. The Second Gentleman will attend the ceremony honoring the University of Connecticut Huskies Men’s Basketball team.
 
The President and the First Lady will travel to Camp David.

The President and the First Lady will travel from Camp David to Wilmington, Delaware.
 
The President and the First Lady will return to the White House from Wilmington, Delaware.


Monday, May 29, 2023
 
The President will host a breakfast in honor of Memorial Day in the East Room.
 
The President and the First Lady will participate in a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. The Vice President and the Second Gentleman will attend.
 
The President will deliver the Memorial Day Address at the 155th National Memorial Day Observance at Memorial Amphitheater at Arlington National Cemetery. The Vice President, the First Lady, and the Second Gentleman will attend.
 
The President and the First Lady will travel to Wilmington, Delaware.

Wednesday –   At 10:05 AM, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will virtually participate in a Wall Street Journal CEO Council Fireside Chat with financial editor Charles Forelle.

Ambassador Tai will meet with Colombia’s Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, German Umaña. This meeting will be closed press.

Ambassador Tai and Ambassador Sarah Bianchi will travel to Detroit for the 2023 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers Responsible for Trade (MRT) meetings and Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) Ministerial.

At 3:45 PM, Ambassador Tai will participate in an event with APIA Vote Michigan alongside Canada’s Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, Mary Ng at the Philippines Community Center (17356 Northland Park Ct, Southfield, MI 48075). Thursday, May 25, 2023
At 10:30 AM, Ambassador Tai will chair an APEC MRT adjacent event (“Trade and Working People: A New Conversation”) with United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain and AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Frederick Redmond. This event is open press for pre-credentialed APEC media.
