Secretary Yellen will also announce new initiatives by the Treasury Department to combat climate change and mobilize private investments in clean energy technology and other economic opportunities in the U.S. and globally that will help us meet our emissions reduction goals.

These investments are a key component of President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda – a pillar of Bidenomics – which uses targeted government investments to complement the private sector and make our economy stronger, fairer, and more productive. We are already seeing the impact of the President’s Investing in America agenda, with over $500 billion in announced manufacturing investments since the Biden-Harris Administration took office.

At 2:30 PM ET, Secretary Yellen will join Secretary Hillary Clinton for a fireside conversation at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting. The event is open to pre-credentialed press. Registration is available here. The event will be livestreamed here.

At 3:00 PM WAT / 10:00 AM ET, Deputy Secretary Adeyemo will deliver remarks on the U.S.-Nigeria economic relationship at the Lagos Business School. The remarks will be streamed here.

In the evening West Africa Time, Deputy Secretary Adeyemo will visit Ogidi Studios, an Amazon and Netflix recording partner that was the location for part of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie soundtrack recording.
