Tuesday – At 10:00 AM, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will participate in a virtual bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal of Ukraine to discuss Ukraine’s external financing needs, including direct budget support. U.S. direct budget support to Ukraine is inextricably linked to its success on the battlefield and benefits from an unprecedented level of oversight and transparency. This meeting is closed press.
11a ET – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen and IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel will host a press call to announce the IRS Simple Notice Initiative to redesign and simplify hundreds of IRS notices to be more taxpayer friendly. The IRS sends around 170 million notices per year. This initiative is part of the IRS’ ongoing modernization efforts to deliver world class service under the Inflation Reduction Act.
