The President will receive an operational briefing from officials on the continuing response and recovery efforts.
The President will discuss how the Administration is holding Norfolk Southern accountable for the derailment and is working with state and local officials to support the community as it moves forward. The President will discuss his commitment to ensuring the people of East Palestine are not defined by this single event, and that his administration is delivering on the needs of affected families, businesses, and residents.
The President will depart East Palestine, Ohio en route to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

TREASURY DEPT –
Tuesday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for events highlighting how the Biden Administration’s Investing in America agenda is lowering health care costs for American families and creating economic opportunity across the country. While in Pittsburgh, Secretary Yellen will participate in events with community members, elected officials, and business leaders to discuss how President Biden’s economic agenda impacts the local community and economy.
At 10:00 AM, Secretary Yellen will tour the Skin Cancer Center at West Penn Hospital and then hold a roundtable on the health care economy with hospital leaders, health care providers, and consumers. The tour will be open to pooled press and there will be a spray the start of the roundtable for opening remarks. Following the tour and roundtable, at approximately 11:30 AM, Secretary Yellen will deliver remarks on the Biden Administration’s efforts to lower health care and prescription drug costs and help Americans access the affordable health care they deserve, including through the historic Inflation Reduction Act.
