TREASURY DEPT –

Monday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will travel to São Paulo, Brazil to participate in the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meetings and events on the sidelines. During the G20, Secretary Yellen will further America’s leadership role within the multilateral system, and emphasize the importance of collective action to build on the economic progress we have made and bolster the global economy for the long-run – such as the work underway to evolve Multilateral Development Banks, strengthen the International Monetary Fund, tackle climate change, and address sovereign debt distress. During the G20 and in meetings with allies and partners, Secretary Yellen will reiterate America’s resolute support for Ukraine following the second anniversary of Russia’s illegal invasion.

Ambassador Katherine Tai, Deputy United States Trade Representative María Pagán and Chief Agricultural Negotiator Doug McKalip will be in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from February 26 to March 1, 2024, for the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13).
 
On Monday, February 26, Ambassador Tai, Ambassador Pagán, and Ambassador McKalip will attend the MC13 opening session. This session is closed press.
 
Throughout the week, Ambassador Tai, Ambassador Pagán, and Ambassador McKalip will participate in MC13 working sessions and hold bilateral meetings with other MC13 Heads of Delegation. Additional information regarding their meetings and events will be available at a later date.
