The President will deliver remarks to celebrate Independence Day and independence from COVID-19 at a Fourth of July BBQ with essential workers and military families on the South Lawn.
The National Mall will be open for the traditional Independence Day fireworks display so friends and family can gather to celebrate our independence from this virus.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen
Friday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will host a bilateral meeting with German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo will also join the meeting. This meeting will continue the tradition of U.S.-German coordination on economic priorities, including supporting a robust global economic recovery in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting sustainable finance, and the agreement by 130 countries this week to support a global minimum tax for the world’s largest corporations. This meeting is closed press with a photo spray at the top.
