WEEK AHEAD GUIDANCE FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 25, 2022 – APRIL 30, 2022 Wednesday, April 27, 2022 The President and the Vice President will attend the funeral of Secretary of State Madeleine Albright at the Washington National Cathedral. The President will deliver remarks. The President and the First Lady will host the Council of Chief State School Officers’ 2022 National and State Teachers of the Year at the White House. Teachers from each state and territory will be honored for their excellence in teaching and commitment to students’ learning. The President, the First Lady, the Secretary of Education, and 2022 National Teacher of the Year Kurt Russell will deliver remarks. Saturday, April 30, 2022 The President and the First Lady will attend the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton. The President will deliver remarks. ### |
US TREASURY Tuesday, April 26 All Day – Deputy Secretary Adeyemo will attend events in Orlando, Florida to highlight projects made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act. He will also attend a press availability with the Mayor of Orlando. We will have paper to you to wrap up his trip. Secretary Yellen will convene a high-level roundtable as part of launch week of the Biden-Harris Administration’s infrastructure initiative announced at the G7 summit at Carbis Bay. The initiative is a U.S. government-wide effort to invest in high-quality infrastructure, principally in the areas of climate, health, digital, and gender. To mark its launch, Secretary Yellen will host a discussion with the multilateral development banks (MDBs) and her counterparts from the G7 and Australia. The roundtable will discuss how the MDBs can leverage their financing, technical assistance and policy advice to expand sustainable infrastructure as well as mobilize private sector finance for infrastructure. The event is closed press. I would expect a readout. Wednesday, April 27 Secretary Yellen will meet with members of the Congressional Black Caucus. I would not anticipate a readout. Thursday, April 28 935AM – Secretary Yellen will deliver keynote remarks at an in-person event hosted by The Hamilton Project and Hutchins Center, entitled, “Recession remedies: Lessons learned from the US economic policy response to COVID-19.” The event will be livestreamed.
