WASHINGTON (MaceNews) – The following are Tuesday’s schedules for the White House, Treasury, USTR, the State Department and Capitol Hill as well as U.S. data and Federal Reserve events:   

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE
FOR TUESDAY, AUGUST 16, 2022 

In the morning, the President and the First Lady will depart Kiawah Island, South Carolina en route Washington, DC. The departure from Charleston Executive Airport will covered by the out-of-town pool. The departure from the Charleston Air Force Base will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the in-town travel pool. The arrival at the White House will be covered by the in-town travel pool.
 
In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks and sign into law H.R. 5376, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. This historic bill will lower the cost of energy, prescription drugs, and other health care for American families, combat the climate crisis, reduce the deficit, and make the largest corporations pay their fair share of taxes. This event in the State Dining Room will be open to pre-credentialed media and pooled for TV.  

In the evening, the President will depart Washington, DC en route Wilmington, Delaware. The departure from the White House will be covered by the in-town travel pool. The departure from Fort Lesley J. McNair will be covered by the in-town travel pool. The arrival at Delaware Air National Guard Base will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

Tuesday  – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen has no public engagements.

USTR

Tuesday – Ambassador Katherine Tai has no public engagements.  

Thursday – Ambassador Tai will travel to Des Moines, Iowa. She will join Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and Representative Cindy Axne [IA-03] for events to highlight the Biden Administration’s work to expand market access for U.S. farmers, producers, and exporters, and help bring American goods to customers around the world.

Ambassador Tai will also highlight how the Biden Administration’s recent accomplishments and priorities – including the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS and Science Act – will lower costs for Iowa families, reduce inflation, and help the United States maintain its global competitive edge. Ambassador Tai will also meet with local AAPI leaders and discuss how the Biden Administration’s trade agenda can deliver inclusive economic growth to all communities. Additional details on specific events will come at a later date.
