FOR WEDNESDAY, MARCH 1, 2023
In the morning, the President will deliver remarks on his nomination of Julie Su to serve as the Secretary of Labor. The Vice President will attend and Deputy Secretary Julie Su will deliver remarks. This event in the East Room will be pooled for TV and open to pre-credentialed media [RSVP here by 6 AM].
After, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.
Then, the President will attend the Department of Homeland Security’s 20th Anniversary Ceremony. He will thank DHS employees for their service to our nation over the past 20 years. The departure from and arrival to the South Grounds will be covered by the in-town travel pool. These remarks will be covered by the in-town travel pool.
In the afternoon, the President will travel to Baltimore, Maryland. The departure from the South Lawn will be open press. The arrival at Fort McHenry Landing Zone, Baltimore, Maryland will be covered by the out-of-town pool.
In the evening, the President will deliver remarks at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference on his Administration and Congress’ historic investments in America. These remarks at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor, Baltimore, Maryland will be pooled for TV and open to pre-credentialed media.
After, the President will depart Baltimore, Maryland en route to the White House. The departure from Fort McHenry Landing Zone, Baltimore, Maryland will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival on the South Lawn will be open press.

Wednesday – 12p ET– Under Secretary of Treasury for Domestic Finance Nellie Liang will deliver keynote remarks at the Next Steps to The Future of Money and Payments Conference, held by the Atlantic Council, Harvard Kennedy School, MIT Digital Currency Initiative, and Stanford University at the Atlantic Council in Washington, DC. She will discuss US leadership in faster payments, regulation, central bank digital currency, and the future of public and private partnerships in the digital asset ecosystem. Her remarks will be open press and posted on the Treasury website. Secretary Yellen, just back from Ukraine, has no public engagements.
STATE DEPT
Wednesday – Secretary Blinken is in Kazakhstan, then to Usbekistan and India. First he participates in a C5+1 ministerial meeting with the five Central Asian countries. Wednesday he will be in New Delhi for the G20 foreign ministers meeting. Departmental press briefings, when held on weekdays, occur around 2p ET.
