Friday = Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will be in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, for meetings with senior PRC officials and other engagements.
At 10:00AM CT / 10:00PM ET, Secretary Yellen will meet with her former counterpart Vice Premier Liu He to exchange views about the states of our respective economies as well as the global economic outlook. This event is closed press.
At 2:00PM CT / 2:00AM ET, Secretary Yellen will meet with leading representatives of the American business community in China, hosted by AmCham China. During the meeting, Secretary Yellen will hear directly from American firms about the opportunities and challenges they face doing business in China. There will be a press spray for pre-credentialed media to cover opening remarks.
At 4:30PM CT / 4:30AM ET, Secretary Yellen will participate in a bilateral meeting with Premier Li Qiang. There will be a pool spray to cover opening remarks.
At 6:00PM CT / 6:00AM ET, Secretary Yellen will participate in a dinner with leading Chinese economists hosted by the think tank CF40, where she will have an opportunity to discuss the economic outlook for the U.S. and China. This event is closed press.
