DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE

In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.

After, the President will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The departure from the South Grounds will be covered by the in-town travel pool. The arrival to and departure from Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at Philadelphia International Airport, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will be open press.

In the afternoon, the President will participate in a tour of Philly Shipyard. This tour will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

Then, the President will discuss how his Bidenomics agenda is growing the economy from the middle out and the bottom up. These remarks at Philly Shipyard, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will be open press.

Later, the President will return to the White House from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The departure from Philadelphia International Airport, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the arrival to Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The departure from Joint Base Andrews and arrival to the South Grounds will be covered by the in-town travel pool.

TREASURY DEPT

Thursday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will travel to Hanoi, Vietnam to work towards deepening our bilateral economic relationship with Vietnam and bolstering economic resilience. While in Hanoi, Secretary Yellen will also note Vietnam’s progress in addressing currency issues and our work together to combat climate change, including through Vietnam’s Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

On Thursday 9:00 AM ICT / Wednesday 10:00 PM ET, Secretary Yellen will hold a bilateral meeting with the State Bank of Vietnam Governor Nguyen Thi Hong. During the meeting Secretary Yellen will discuss Vietnam’s work to address currency issues as well as bilateral efforts to strengthen financial and macroeconomic resilience. There will be a press spray with remarks at the beginning of the meeting for pre-credentialed press.

At 10:30 AM ICT / Wednesday 11:30 PM ET, Secretary Yellen will participate in a bilateral meeting with Communist Party of Vietnam Central Economic Commission Chair Tran Tuan Anh. There will be a photo spray at the top of the meeting for pre-credentialed press.

At 12:00 PM ICT / 1:00 AM ET, Secretary Yellen will participate in a lunch with women economists and entrepreneurs where she will discuss the importance of empowering women in the workforce as well as the strong people-to-people ties between the U.S. and Vietnam. There will be press spray with remarks at the beginning of the lunch for pre-credentialed press. 

At 2:00 PM ICT / 3:00 AM ET, Secretary Yellen will participate in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. During the meeting Secretary Yellen will highlight the trusted economic partnership between our two countries and how the deep economic ties between the U.S. and Vietnam help create greater economic resilience through what she calls “friendshoring.” There will be a press spray with remarks at the beginning of the meeting for pre-credentialed press.

At 3:30 PM ICT / 4:30 AM ET, Secretary Yellen will participate in a site visit of Selex, a Vietnamese electric scooter and battery manufacturer that has received support through multilateral development banks, to highlight U.S. assistance for Vietnam’s energy transition, as well as the importance of developing resilient clean energy supply chains. During her visit, the Secretary will tour the company, meet with its leadership, and deliver brief remarks. The event is open to pre-credentialed media.
