ZURICH (MaceNews) – The business outlook among German companies is expected to have improved in May, data released tomorrow by Germany’s IFO Institute at 10am CET are expected to show.
After failing to meet expectations for improvement the month before, The Business Climate Index is expected to improve to 98.0 in May from 96.8 in April, according to the median of an Econoday survey of economists’ forecasts.
If realized, the improvement to 98.0 would be the highest since June 2019’s result of 97.7
After a decline in April to 99.5 from 100.3 in March, the expectations component of sentiment is seen improving in May, according to the Econoday survey, rising to 101.0, a level not seen since the April 2018 result of 101.7.
Current conditions are seen improving to 95.0 in May from 94.1 in April, according to the Econoday median.
