 DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2021

In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.

Then, the President and the First Lady will participate in a Tribal Nations Summit coinciding with national Native American Heritage Month, the first summit since 2016 and the first time this summit has been hosted at the White House. The President will address Tribal leaders and announce a number of steps to improve public safety and justice for Native Americans, and protect Tribal lands, treaty rights and sacred places. These remarks in the South Court Auditorium will be covered by the in-house pool and pre-credentialed media. 

In the afternoon, the President will sign into law his Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, H.R. 3684, the “Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.” The President will be joined by a bipartisan group of Members of Congress who helped write this landmark economic growth bill and by a diverse group of leaders who fought for its passage across the country, ranging from Governors and Mayors of both parties to labor union and business leaders. The President and the Vice President will deliver remarks. This bipartisan signing ceremony on the South Lawn will be open press. 

In the evening, the President will meet virtually with His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The two leaders will discuss ways to responsibly manage the competition between the United States and the PRC, as well as ways to work together where our interests align. Throughout, President Biden will make clear U.S. intentions and priorities and be clear and candid about our concerns with the PRC. This meeting in the Roosevelt Room will have a pool spray at the top.

WASHINGTON – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will attend President Biden’s bipartisan signing ceremony of his Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, H.R. 3684, the “Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” with Members of Congress and other diverse groups of leaders who fought for its passage across the country.

Secretary Yellen will also attend President Biden’s virtual meeting with His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The meeting will discuss ways that both countries can responsibly manage competition between each other and discuss ways to work together where interests align.

Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo will travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates as a part of his trip to the Middle East. He will meet with senior government officials and business leaders to discuss economic opportunities and the critical bilateral relationship. The Deputy Secretary will also tour Expo 2020 and the U.S. pavilion.
