DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

In the morning, the President will host the virtual Summit for Democracy, bringing together over 100 participants, representing governments, civil society and private sector leaders. The President will deliver the Summit’s opening remarks and host the Leaders’ Plenary Session. The remarks in the South Court Auditorium will be covered by the in-house pool and pre-credentialed media. The Leaders’ Plenary Session will be closed press.
Then, the President, the First Lady, the Vice President, and the Second Gentleman will attend a Congressional tribute ceremony for Senator Robert J. Dole as he lies in state at the United States Capitol. The President will deliver remarks. The event is open to pre-credentialed media, and the in-town travel pool will accompany.
In the afternoon, the President will hold a call with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine to discuss Russia’s military build-up on Ukraine’s borders. This call in the Oval Office will be closed press.
After, the President will hold a call with the leaders of the Bucharest Nine group of our eastern flank NATO Allies to brief them on his call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, hear their perspectives on the current security situation, and underscore the United States’ commitment to Transatlantic security. This call in the Oval Office will be closed press.
Later, the President and the Vice President will meet with members of the White House COVID-19 Response Team on the latest developments related to the Omicron variant. This meeting in the State Dining Room will have a spray at the top by the in-house pool and pre-credentialed media.
