In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the President’s Daily Brief in the Situation Room. This meeting will be closed press.
 
In the afternoon, the President will have lunch with the Vice President in the Private Dining Room. This lunch will be closed press.
 
Then, the President and the Vice President will receive a briefing from members of their COVID-19 team on the COVID-19 response and the state of vaccinations in the Oval Office. This meeting will be closed press.
 
Later, the President will participate in an event commemorating the 50 millionth COVID-19 vaccine shot in the South Court Auditorium. The Vice President will also attend. This event will be pooled press.
 
After, the President will participate in the National Governors Association’s Winter Meeting in the South Court Auditorium. This event will be pooled press.

Secretary Yellen will participate in a virtual meeting with a bipartisan group of six mayors from around the country, representing populations of under 80,000 residents, to better understand on-the-ground macroeconomic realities of cities around the country and underscore the importance of passing the American Rescue Plan. 11:00 a.m.: Convene and begin a period of morning business.

Hearing to Consider the Nomination of Katherine C. Tai, of the District of Columbia, to be United States Trade Representative, with the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary

The Senate parliamentarian may rule as soon Thursday or Friday whether a nationwide increase in the minimum wage to $15 an hour is allowed to be included in the pandemic relief proposal under the reconciliation process rules. Should it be ruled out the Senate can override the parliamentarian, unlikely since that would take 60 votes.

Senate will vote at 12:10pm to confirm Jennifer Granholm to be Energy Secretary and then at 1:30pm to advance the nomination of Miguel Cardona to be Education Secretary

The U.S. House Thursday   The House is finishing work on the $1.9-trillion Covid relief package in order to pass it Friday.
