In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.
After, the President will travel to Fort Worth, Texas. The departure from the South Lawn will be open press and pooled for TV. The departure from Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth will be open press.
In the afternoon, the President and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs will visit the Fort Worth VA Clinic to speak with VA health care providers about addressing the health effects of environmental exposures such as burn pits and receive a briefing on primary care and specialty health services for veterans. They will also speak with veterans and patient advocates about different challenges facing the community. This visit will be covered by the out-of-town pool
Later, the President and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs will deliver remarks on expanding access to health care and benefits for veterans affected by military environmental exposures such as burn pits, as part of the President’s Unity Agenda for the Nation. The President will discuss his Administration’s actions to address these issues, including a new proposed rule to consider adding certain rare cancers to the list of those presumed to be service-connected, and he will urge Congress to send him legislation that ensures we honor our commitment to veterans exposed to toxic substances. These remarks at Resource Connection of Tarrant County in Fort Worth, Texas will be open to pre-credentialed media.
In the evening, the President will return to the White House from Fort Worth, Texas. The departure from Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth Base will be open press.
