WASHINGTON – At 9:30 AM, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will meet with President and CEO of UnidosUS Janet Murguía and representatives from other Latino advocacy organizations to discuss how the American Rescue Plan Act is supporting the Latino community and what Treasury is doing to promote greater investments in Community Development Financial Institutions to fuel economic growth in minority communities. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo will attend meetings in Brussels, Belgium to continue close sanctions coordination with European officials. He will then depart for Paris, France and meet with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann.
At 12:30 PM, Counselor for Racial Equity Janis Bowdler will participate in a fireside discussion at the 2022 U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Legislative Summit where she will highlight how Treasury is working to ensure that Hispanic businesses and other minority owned small businesses have access to the capital they need to thrive.
