Wednesday – As previously announced, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will chair a meeting of the Financial Literacy and Education Commission (FLEC). The meeting will focus on the role of financial education in reducing economic inequity. The meeting will be open to the public and webcast from 9:00 a.m. ET to 11:00 a.m. ET here: www.yorkcast.com/treasury/events/2021/05/26/FLEC.
Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo will attend the FLEC meeting and moderate a panel focused on financial education and racial equity. The panel will include John Hope Bryant (Operation Hope), Marc Morial (National Urban League), Marietta Rodriguez (NeighborWorks America), John Rogers (Ariel Investments), and Justine Zinkin (Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners). The Deputy Secretary will also attend a meeting with fellows from Colorwave, a non-profit organization focused on closing the racial wealth gap by connecting professionals of color with opportunities at venture-backed startups.
