Then, the President and the Vice President will deliver remarks and convene Cabinet officials, Governor Kate Brown of Oregon, Governor Gavin Newsom of California, Governor Mark Gordon of Wyoming, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico, Governor Spencer Cox of Utah, Governor Steve Sisolak of Nevada, Governor Jay Inslee of Washington, Governor Jared Polis of Colorado, and private sector partners to discuss the devastating intersection of drought, heat, and wildfires in the Western United States, and strengthening prevention, preparedness and response efforts for this wildfire season in the South Court Auditorium. This event will be pooled press.

The President will deliver remarks on the June jobs report.

The President will participate in a naturalization ceremony to welcome new citizens to our country ahead of Independence Day.

Sunday, July 4, 2021

The President will deliver remarks to celebrate Independence Day and independence from COVID-19 at a Fourth of July BBQ with essential workers and military families on the South Lawn.

The National Mall will be open for the traditional Independence Day fireworks display so friends and family can gather to celebrate our independence from this virus.
 

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen

Wednesday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo will host a virtual roundtable discussion with national Black leaders on the state of the economy and Treasury’s efforts to advance equity through its programs and policies, including the department’s equity assessment. This event is closed press.

The Deputy Secretary will also attend a virtual roundtable focused on LGBTQ+ economic inclusion hosted by Out Leadership. This event is closed press.

In addition, the Deputy Secretary will deliver remarks at the plenary of the virtual Eviction Prevention Summit, hosted by the White House, to support and facilitate coordination among state and local actors to stabilize households and prevent evictions. Members of the media are invited to join a plenary on best practices for preventing evictions and access to counsel from 1-2 PM ET.
