White House and Other Schedules for Friday, April 5

WASHINGTON (MaceNews) – The following are Wednesday’s schedules for the White House, Treasury, USTR, the State Department and Capitol Hill as well as U.S. economic data and Federal Reserve events:

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE 
FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 5, 2024

In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.

After, the President will depart the White House en route to Baltimore, Maryland. The departure from the South Lawn will be open press.

In the afternoon, the President will receive an aerial tour of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge with Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Admiral Linda Fagan, Commandant of the United States Coast Guard and Lieutenant General Scott Spellmon, Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This aerial tour and the arrival at Martin State Airport will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

Then, the President will participate in an operational briefing on response and recovery efforts and meet with federal personnel, state and local officials, and first responders. This briefing at the Maryland Transportation Authority, Baltimore, Maryland will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

After, the President will deliver remarks reaffirming his commitment to the people of Baltimore as they rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge and reopen the Port of Baltimore. These remarks in Baltimore, Maryland will be open press.
 
Following, the President will meet with the loved ones of the six individuals who tragically lost their lives when the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed. This will be closed press.

In the evening, the President will depart Baltimore, Maryland en route to Wilmington, Delaware where he will remain throughout the weekend. The departure from Martin State Airport and the arrival at Delaware Air National Guard Base will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

Friday –  Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will continue travel in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for bilateral meetings and other engagements. Secretary Yellen’s visit to China will build on the intensive diplomacy she has engaged in to responsibly manage the bilateral economic relationship and advance American interests.

At 9:00 AM CST Friday / 9:00 PM ET Thursday, Secretary Yellen will hold a roundtable discussion with economic experts to discuss challenges and opportunities in the PRC’s economy. There will be a photo spray at the beginning of this meeting open to pre-credentialed media.

At 11:00 AM CST Friday / 11:00 PM ET Thursday, Secretary Yellen will hold a bilateral meeting meet with Guangdong Governor Wang Weizhong. There will be an extended spray to cover Secretary Yellen and Governor Wang’s opening remarks at the beginning of this meeting for pre-credentialed media.
