Friday – In Hanoi, Vietnam, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will continue to work towards deepening our bilateral economic relationship and bolstering economic resilience. While in Hanoi, Secretary Yellen will note Vietnam’s progress in addressing currency issues and our work together to combat climate change, including through Vietnam’s Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
On Friday 8:45 AM / Thursday 9:45 PM EST, Secretary Yellen will participate in a U.S. business roundtable. There will be a photo spray at the top.
On Friday 9:35 AM ICT/Thursday 10:35 PM EST, Secretary Yellen will deliver major remarks to the U.S. business community in Vietnam on friendshoring and supply chain resilience. The event will be live-streamed here and the event is open to credentialed media.
On Friday 10:30 AM ICT / Thursday 11:30 PM EST, Secretary Yellen will participate in a bilateral meeting with Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc. During the meeting Secretary Yellen will stress that the United States considers Vietnam a key partner in the Indo-Pacific and highlight efforts to deepen the already significant trade and investment ties between our two countries.
At 12 PM ICT / 1 AM EST, Secretary Yellen will participate in a lunch with the State Bank of Vietnam Governor Nguyen Thi Hong. This lunch is closed press.
At 2:30 PM ICT / 3:30 AM EST, Secretary Yellen will participate in moderated discussion at a Female Leadership Conference in the Economic Sector hosted by Foreign Trade University. The event is open to pre-credentialed press.
At 4 PM ICT / 5 AM EST, Secretary Yellen will participate in a meeting with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. There will be a photo spray at the beginning of the meeting for pre-credentialed press
In the evening, Secretary Yellen will depart Vietnam to return to the United States.
