White House and Other Schedules for Friday, June 9

WASHINGTON (MaceNews) – The following are Friday’s schedules for the White House, Treasury, USTR, the State Department and Capitol Hill as well as U.S. economic data and Federal Reserve events:

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE 
FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 9, 2023   

In the morning, the President and the First Lady will travel to Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The departure from the North Grounds will be covered by the in-town travel pool. The departure from Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool.  The arrival to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, North Carolina will be open press.

Then, the President and the First Lady will depart Goldsboro, North Carolina en route to Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The departure from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, North Carolina will be open press. The arrival to Rocky Mount-Wilson Regional Airport, Elm City, North Carolina will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

In the afternoon, the President and the First Lady will tour Rocky Mount Community College. This tour will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

Later, the President and the First Lady will discuss how career-connected learning and workforce training programs are preparing students for good-paying jobs in North Carolina – and nationwide – that are being created as a result of the President’s Investing in America Agenda. These remarks will be pooled for TV and open for editorials and still photographers.

After, the President and the First Lady will depart Rocky Mount, North Carolina en route to Fort Liberty, North Carolina. The departure from Rocky Mount-Wilson Regional Airport, Elm City, North Carolina and the arrival to Pope Airfield Landing Zone, Pope Field, North Carolina will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

Then, the President and the First Lady will meet with service members and their families and deliver remarks at an event in support of Joining Forces, Dr. Biden’s initiative to support military and veteran families, caregivers, and survivors. These remarks will be open press.

In the evening, the President and the First Lady will depart Fort Liberty, North Carolina en route to Joint Base Andrews. The departure from Pope Airfield Landing Zone, Pope Field, North Carolina and the arrival to Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

Then, the President and the First Lady will depart Joint Base Andrews en route to the White House. The departure from Joint Base Andrews and arrival to the North Grounds will be covered by the in-town travel pool.

Ambassador Tai will travel to Riga, Latvia.

Ambassador Tai will meet with Latvia’s Prime Minister, Krišjānis Kariņš. This meeting is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will participate in a joint press conference with Latvia’s President-elect and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs. This event will be livestreamed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Tai will participate in stakeholder events and discuss opportunities to strengthen the U.S.-Latvian trade and investment relationship.  

Additional information regarding Ambassador Tai’s meetings and events in Riga will be provided at a later date.

Friday – Locked in a battle with about a dozen conservative members still angry with the terms of the debt-limit agreement, Speaker McCarthy adjourned the House until 9a ET Monday.
