The President has traveled to Bali, Indonesia for the G20 Leaders’ Summit. In Bali, the President will commend President Widodo’s leadership of the G20 and highlight the U.S. commitment to this premier forum for economic cooperation with countries representing more than 80% of the world’s GDP. He will work with G20 partners to address key challenges such as climate change, the global impact of Putin’s war on Ukraine, including on energy and food security and affordability, and a range of other priorities important to the global economic recovery and building a sustainable and inclusive global economy. The departure from Phnom Penh International Airport, Phnom Penh, Cambodia and the arrival to Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Indonesia will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

The President will hold a bilateral meeting with President Joko Widodo of Indonesia to discuss the upcoming G20 Summit and opportunities to deepen the U.S.-Indonesia Strategic Partnership.
The President will hold a bilateral meeting with President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The Leaders will discuss efforts to maintain and deepen lines of communication between the United States and the PRC, responsibly manage competition, and work together where our interests align, especially on transnational challenges that affect the international community. The two Leaders will also discuss a range of regional and global issues.

The President, President Widodo of Indonesia, and President Von der Leyen of the European Commission will co-host an event on the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment which aims to mobilize $600 billion in the next five years with G7 partners to deliver sustainable infrastructure and advance U.S national security and economic security interests.
The President will meet with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy. They will discuss our cooperation on shared global challenges, including those posed by the People’s Republic of China, and our ongoing efforts to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression.

US TREASURY Monday – In Bali, Indonesia, at 10:20 AM WITA (Monday) / 9:20 PM EST (Sunday), Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will participate in the Just and Affordable Energy Transition for Indonesia – Energy Transition Mechanism High-Level Seminar. There, the Secretary will highlight Treasury’s engagement with key emerging markets like Indonesia that are committed to transitioning to net-zero economies by implementing robust energy sector reform agendas. This international action builds on the United States’ largest-ever investment in fighting climate change thanks to President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This event will be open to pre-credentialed press and livestreamed here.
