After, the President will pardon the National Thanksgiving Turkey in a ceremony on the South Lawn. The President will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation, reflect upon the time-honored traditions of Thanksgiving, and wish American families a safe and healthy holiday. The 2022 National Thanksgiving Turkey and its alternate were raised near Monroe, North Carolina. This event on the South Lawn will be open press.
In the afternoon, the President and the First Lady will travel to Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, North Carolina. The departure from the South Lawn will be open press. The arrival to Joint Base Andrews and Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, North Carolina will be covered by the out-of-town pool.
In the evening, the President and the First Lady will participate in a Friendsgiving dinner with service members and military families from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, Camp Lejeune, and Marine Corps Air Station, New River in North Carolina as part of the First Lady’s Joining Forces Initiative. This event at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, North Carolina will be open press.
After, the President and the First Lady will return to the White House. The departure from Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, North Carolina and the arrival to Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival on the South Lawn will be open press.
