White House and Other Schedules for Monday, Sept 12

WASHINGTON (MaceNews) – The following are Monday’s schedules for the White House, Treasury, USTR, the State Department and Capitol Hill as well as U.S. data and Federal Reserve events:   

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE 
FOR MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2022  

In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.
 
After, the President will travel to Boston, Massachusetts. The departure from the South Lawn will be open press. The departure from Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at Boston Logan International Airport will be open press.
 
In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks highlighting how Bipartisan Infrastructure Law projects – like the modernization of Boston Logan International Airport’s Terminal E – are already underway and delivering tangible results for communities across the country. These remarks at Boston Logan International Airport’s Terminal E will be open press.
 
After, the President will deliver remarks on the Cancer Moonshot and the goal of ending cancer as we know it. The President’s remarks, which will take place on the 60th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s “Moonshot” speech, will be held at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum. These remarks at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum will be covered by pre-credentialed media and pooled for TV. The departure from Boston Logan International Airport will be open press. The arrival at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum will be covered by the out-of-town pool.
 
In the evening, the President will participate in a reception for the Democratic National Committee. This event in Boston, Massachusetts will be covered by the restricted out-of-town pool and the out-of-town pool will accompany.
 
After, the President will return to the White House from Boston, Massachusetts. The departure from Boston Logan International Airport will be open press. The arrival at Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival to the South Grounds will be covered by the out-of-town pool.

Monday – At 1 PM, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L .Yellen will hold a swearing in ceremony for Chief Lynn Malerba, President Biden’s appointee for Treasurer of the United States. Chief Malerba is the first Native American person to serve as the nation’s Treasurer. Chief Malerba’s appointment as Treasurer will mean that for the first time in U.S. history, the signatures of a Native woman and a female Secretary of the Treasury will soon be seen on the nation’s currency. The swearing in ceremony is open to pre-credentialed press and will be livestreamed here

STATE DEPARTMENT

Monday – Secretary Blinken has no public engagements. Departmental briefings on weekdays are scheduled for around 2p ET.  

USTR

Monday – Ambassador Jayme White will co-lead the second meeting of the High-Level Economic Dialogue (HLED) along with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo in Mexico City, Mexico.  The HLED provides the opportunity to engage collaboratively with Mexico on key projects that can help advance our regional economic integration and collective prosperity.  The partnership also supports the development of worker-centric economic policies, a top priority of the Biden-Harris Administration.
