Wednesday, September 28, 2022 The President and the First Lady will deliver remarks to celebrate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which the President proudly cosponsored as a Senator, and mark Disability Pride Month. The President will highlight the incredible progress the country has made since the passage of the ADA while acknowledging those who are working to ensure we live up to the full promise of the law. The President will deliver remarks at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. The Conference, which will be the first of its kind in more than 50 years, will bring government leaders, academics, activists, and Americans from all walks of life together to achieve the goal of ending hunger and reducing diet-related diseases in the United States by 2030. The President will participate in a Democratic Governors Association reception. Thursday, September 29, 2022 The President will host the first ever U.S.- Pacific Island Country Summit to demonstrate the United States’ deep and enduring partnership with the Pacific Island region. The Summit will reflect our broadening and deepening cooperation on key issues such as climate change, pandemic and economic recovery, maritime security, environmental protection, and advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific. As part of the first ever U.S.-Pacific Island Country Summit, the President will welcome the Pacific Island Leaders to the White House. The Leaders will take a family photo. The President will host a dinner for the Pacific Island Leaders. Friday, September 30, 2022 The President and the First Lady will host a reception to celebrate the Jewish New Year. The Vice President and the Second Gentleman will attend. The President and the First Lady will host a Hispanic Heritage Month reception. Saturday, October 1, 2022 The President and the Vice President will deliver remarks at the 2022 Phoenix Awards Dinner. US TREASURY Monday – In the afternoon, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will participate in a meeting of the White House Competition Council. The meeting will have a pool spray at the top. STATE DEPARTMENT Monday – Departmental news briefings when held on weekdays are scheduled for around 2p ET.
