White House and Other Schedules for Thursday,  April 21

WASHINGTON (MaceNews)—The following are Thursday’s schedules for the White House, Treasury, USTR, the State Department and Capitol Hill as well as US Data and Federal Reserve events:

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
THURSDAY, APRIL 21, 2022

 In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.
 
Then, the President will provide an update on Russia and Ukraine. These remarks in the Roosevelt Room will be covered by the in-house pool. 
 
After, the President will travel to Portland, Oregon. The departure from the South Lawn will be open press and pooled for TV. The departure from Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at Portland Air National Guard Base will be open press.
 
In the afternoon, the President will visit Portland International Airport to highlight critical investments that will ensure stronger, more resilient infrastructure, such as an earthquake-resilient runway at PDX, and help lower costs on everyday items by ensuring goods can move faster and more efficiently. This visit will be covered by the out-of-town pool.
 
After, the President will deliver remarks on the investment that has been made at Portland International Airport thanks in part to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which is helping lower costs for families and Building a Better America with stronger, more resilient infrastructure. These remarks at Portland Air National Guard Base will be open press.
 
Later, the President will participate in a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee in Portland, Oregon. This fundraiser will be covered by the restricted out-of-town pool.
 
In the evening, the President will travel to Seattle, Washington. The departure from Portland Air National Guard Base and the arrival at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will be open press.
 
After, the President will participate in a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee in Seattle, Washington. This fundraiser will be covered by the restricted out-of-town pool.

On Earth Day, the President will travel to Seattle, Washington to discuss his Administration’s efforts to continue bringing down costs for American families and tackling the climate crisis.

US TREASURY

Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo will continue representing the United States in the 2022 IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C. Secretary Yellen will host a press conference at 11:00 AM ET in the Cash Room at the Treasury Department. This event is open to pre-approved media; the press conference will also be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/c/USTreasGov In the morning, Secretary Yellen will hold a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal. The Secretary will reiterate the Biden Administration’s firm support for the people of Ukraine as they defend their lives and their country. In this meeting, the Secretary will underscore our shared resolve to hold Russia accountable and provide Ukraine necessary aid. This meeting will be closed press; there will be a still photo spray. 

The Secretary will later attend the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Ministerial Meeting to discuss the group’s strategic priorities for the year, including increasing beneficial ownership transparency, asset recovery, and fighting corruption. Combatting corruption has been a key focus of the Biden-Harris Administration, and Treasury is supporting effective implementation of international financial transparency and anti-corruption standards to promote global safety and security. Supporting the entire FATF Global Network is an important priority for the United States, as is ensuring a robust and fair mutual evaluation process. This event is closed press. At 2:30 PM ET, Secretary Yellen will attend a ministerial roundtable hosted by the World Bank Group and the Government of Ukraine The event will be livestreamed at http://live.worldbank.org/sm22/roundtable-ukraine
