In the morning, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom. This meeting in the Oval Office will have an in-house pool spray.

In the afternoon, the President will host a joint press conference with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom. This event in the East Room will be open to pre-credentialed media.

In the evening, the President will host a Pride Celebration with Betty Who. This event on the South Lawn will be open press.

TREASURY DEPT

Thursday – At 10:30 AM, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will meet with the Business Roundtable at their quarterly meeting to discuss the resiliency of the U.S. economy and President Biden’s economic agenda, including the Treasury Department’s implementation of historic legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act. The meeting is closed press.

At 11:30 AM, Secretary Yellen will join President Biden’s bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom. The meeting in the Oval Office will have an in-house pool spray. 

At 2 PM, Secretary Yellen will deliver opening remarks at a meeting of the Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity (TACRE). During her remarks, Secretary Yellen will outline the Treasury Department’s efforts to increase opportunity throughout the American economy, including through major components of the American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act. The meeting is closed press.

At 4:30 PM, Secretary Yellen will meet with the US-China Business Council’s Board of Directors to discuss the U.S.-China economic relationship. The meeting is closed press.  

 STATE DEPT

Thursday – Secty Blinken has co-hosted a ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in Saudi Arabria befores returning to Washington..  Departmental news briefings are  held on weekdays around 1:30p ET. Ambassador Tai will be in Paris, France for the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting.

Ambassador Tai will meet with the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Kemi Badenoch. This meeting is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will travel to Riga, Latvia.

Ambassador Tai will meet with Latvia’s Prime Minister, Krišjānis Kariņš. This meeting is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will participate in a joint press conference with Latvia’s President-elect and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs. This event will be livestreamed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Tai will participate in stakeholder events and discuss opportunities to strengthen the U.S.-Latvian trade and investment relationship.

US HOUSE

Thursday – Locked in a battle with about a dozen conservative members still angry with the terms of the debt-limit agreement, Speaker McCarthy adjourned the House until Monday.

US SENATE
