DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR 
THURSDAY, MARCH 21, 2024

In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.

Then, the President will depart Dallas, Texas en route Houston, Texas. The departure from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Dallas, Texas will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base, Houston, Texas will be open press.

In the afternoon, the President will participate in a campaign reception. This reception in the Houston area, Texas will be covered by the restricted out-of-town pool and the out-of-town pool will accompany.

After, the President will return to the White House. The departure from Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base, Houston, Texas and the arrival at Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival on the South Lawn will be open press.

 TREASURY DEPT –

Thursday –At 10:00 AM, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will testify before the Senate Committee on Finance on the President’s Fiscal Year 2025 Budget, which proposes additional investments to lower costs for workers and families and strengthen our economy while reducing deficits by approximately $3 trillion through a combination of smart savings and tax proposals that ensure wealthy individuals and large corporations pay their fair share. At 2:30 PM, Secretary Yellen will join Shalanda Young, Director of the United States Office of Management and Budget and Jared Bernstein, Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers to testify before the House Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee on the President’s Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Request and Economic Outlook. Thursday –. Back at 10a ET. The House is racing to finish language of the bipartisan budget agreement that is intended to avoid a prolonged  govt shutdown beginning midnight Friday.

US SENATE

Thursday – 10:00 a.m.: Convene and proceed to executive session to resume consideration of the nomination of Jose Javier Rodriguez, of Florida, to be an Assistant Secretary of Labor. Members told to be available over the weekend with action on the budget agreement pending after the House OKs. Two-week recess begins afterward. If midnight Friday deadline for president’s signature is not met, would trigger a brief partial government shutdown with little actual consequence.
