WASHINGTON (MaceNews) – The following are Thursday’s schedules for the White House, Treasury, USTR, the State Department and Capitol Hill as well as U.S. economic data and Federal Reserve events:

 
DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE 
FOR THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2023 

In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will host a bilateral meeting with President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço of the Republic of Angola. The leaders will mark 30-years of diplomatic relations and discuss next steps to deepen our bilateral cooperation on trade, investment, climate and energy, and to advance President Biden’s Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI) project in the Lobito Corridor, which will connect Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia to global markets through Angola’s Lobito port. This meeting will build on the tenets of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit, specifically how the United States and African nations and people can continue working together to address regional and global challenges. This bilateral meeting in the Oval Office will have an in-house pool spray at the top.

In the evening, the President and the First Lady will participate in the National Christmas Tree Lighting. The Vice President and the Second Gentleman will attend. This event on the White House Ellipse will be open to pre-credentialed media.

The President and the First Lady will host a reception for Kennedy Center Honorees in the East Room, including actor and comedian Billy Crystal; acclaimed soprano Renée Fleming; British singer-songwriter, producer, and member of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb; rapper, singer, and actress Queen Latifah; and singer Dionne Warwick. The Vice President and the Second Gentleman will attend.

The President, the First Lady, the Vice President, and the Second Gentleman will attend the 46th Kennedy Center Honors. This is the 3rd consecutive year of the Biden-Harris Administration in which they have all have attended the nation’s highest award for lifetime achievement in the arts. 

TREASURY DEPT –

Thursday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will travel to Bessemer City, North Carolina to tour Livent and Gaston College and deliver remarks on how President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act – and the Administration’s Investing in America agenda – is spreading economic opportunity more broadly across the country and strengthening America’s energy security. In her speech at Livent, Secretary Yellen will highlight Treasury’s analysis on how recent investments in Inflation Reduction Act-related sectors of the economy, including clean vehicles, critical minerals, solar, and batteries are concentrated in underserved communities. Secretary Yellen will be joined at Livent by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper. A livestream of Secretary Yellen’s remarks will begin at 11:30 AM and is available here.
