White House and Other Schedules for Tuesday, June 21

WASHINGTON (MaceNews) – The following are Tuesday’s schedules for the White House, Treasury, USTR, the State Department and Capitol Hill as well as US data and Federal Reserve events:   

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
TUESDAY, JUNE 21, 2022  

In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting in the Oval Office will be closed press.
 
In the afternoon, the President will have lunch with the Vice President in the Private Dining Room. This lunch will be closed press.
 
Then, the President and the First Lady will visit a local COVID-19 vaccination clinic hosted by the District of Columbia’s Department of Health (DC Health) to highlight the recent authorization and recommendation of COVID-19 vaccines for children under age five. This visit will be covered by the in-town travel pool.
 
Later, the President will deliver remarks on COVID-19 vaccines for children under five and the historic progress the country has made in fighting COVID-19 with safe, effective vaccines available to virtually all Americans. These remarks in the Roosevelt Room will be covered by the in-house pool.

US TREASURY Tuesday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will travel to South Dakota where she will visit the Rosebud Indian Reservation. During her visit, the first to a Tribal nation by a Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary Yellen will meet with Rosebud Sioux leaders and residents to discuss how American Rescue Plan funds are supporting the Tribe’s recovery from the pandemic and expanding economic opportunity for its citizens.

She will visit the Ojinjinkta Housing Development Corporation where she will see how the Tribe is using recovery funds to provide housing services including emergency rental aid, mortgage assistance, and the construction of affordable housing, and tour Tribal housing facilities and meet with Rosebud members who received emergency rental assistance funding. And she will also visit the Rosebud Economic Development Corporation, which operates several businesses and programs aimed at generating revenue for the Tribal government and creating jobs for Tribal members. At 3:45 PM, Secretary Yellen and Rosebud Sioux Tribe President Scott Herman will make remarks. This event is open to credentialed media.

Tuesday – Ambassador Katherine Tai will attend at the annual Chiefs of Mission Conference at the Department of State. This event is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will appear before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies for a hearing on the review of the President’s Fiscal Year 2023 Funding Request for the Office of the United States Trade Representative.  This event will be live streamed.
