Tuesday, November 14, 2023

In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.

After, the President will deliver remarks on his Administration’s historic actions to address the climate crisis. This event in the South Court Auditorium will be pooled for TV and open to pre-credentialed media.

Then, the President will depart the White House en route to San Francisco, California.  The departure from the South Lawn will be open press. The arrival at and departure from Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at San Francisco, International Airport, San Francisco, California will be open press.

Later, the President and the Vice President will participate in a campaign reception. This reception will be covered by the restricted out-of-town pool and the out-of-town pool will accompany.

The President will deliver remarks at the APEC CEO Summit.

The President will participate in a family photo with APEC economies and guest economies.

The President will host an APEC Informal Dialogue and Working Lunch.

The President will deliver remarks and participate in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework family photo.

The President and the First Lady will host Heads of Delegation for the APEC Dinner.

The President will host a bilateral meeting with President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of Mexico.

The President will host the APEC Leaders Retreat. During the event, President Biden will formally transfer the APEC Chair to President Boluarte of Peru.

The President will depart San Francisco, California.
   

TREASURY DEPT –

Tuesday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will meet with advisors and staff ahead of her participation in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Week meetings and events on the margins as part of the U.S. delegation. During her time in San Francisco, Secretary Yellen will continue to deepen the United States’ economic ties across the Asia-Pacific region, work with her counterparts on strengthening the regional economy, and advance the priorities she outlined in her speech on the Biden Administration’s economic approach towards the Indo-Pacific. This includes working together with regional partners to increase trade and investment, strengthen economic resilience, and address global challenges. Secretary Yellen will also stress that deeper economic ties bring tremendous potential benefits for the U.S. economy and for the Indo-Pacific region. Deepening economic ties in the region has been a focus of Secretary Yellen’s tenure – which includes visits to six APEC members in the last two years.

Ambassador Tai will host the first-ever Ministerial-level Dialogue in San Francisco between Indigenous and Tribal leaders and APEC Ministers on economic and trade policies that benefit Native communities. The start of this event will be open press.
 
Ambassador Tai will co-chair the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting with Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken. A live stream of this meeting will be available here.
 
Ambassador Tai and Ambassador Bianchi will meet with ministers and senior government officials from IPEF and APEC partners. These meetings are closed press.
 
USTR General Counsel Greta Peisch will meet with Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Yuliia Svyredenko. Later, they will open the meeting of the U.S.-Ukraine Trade and Investment Council. These meetings are closed press.
