In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. The Vice President will attend. This meeting in the Oval Office will be closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks on the terrorist attacks in Israel. These remarks in the State Dining Room will be open to pre-credentialed media and pooled for TV. [RSVP here by 8:00 AM]

Later, the President will deliver virtual remarks at the U.S. Fire Administrator’s Summit on Fire Prevention & Control. These remarks in South Court Auditorium will be covered by the in-house pool.

TREASURY DEPT –  

Tuesday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will be in Marrakech, Morocco, to represent the United States in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) and participate in events on the margins. While in Morocco, Secretary Yellen will engage counterparts on opportunities to bolster the global economy and build on our efforts to evolve the multilateral development banks (MDBs) to better address global challenges like climate change while advancing core development goals. 

In the morning, Secretary Yellen will travel to the Bin Yousef High School earthquake recovery site. The Secretary will tour the school, speak with students, and share a reflection following the visit. Remarks are open press.

At 3:15 PM WEST / 10:15 AM ET, Secretary Yellen will deliver major remarks at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University on the progress being made in the effort to reform the MDBs to increase their effectiveness and impact in the year since she issued her call to action ahead of the 2022 Annual Meetings. Prior to her remarks, Secretary Yellen will tour the University, which has deep ties to the World Bank, including benefitting from support in financing the development of its new campus facilities, and meet with local researchers. Tour stops will focus on sustainable battery materials for electrical energy storage, agricultural innovation, and solar panel fabrication. Secretary Yellen’s remarks are open press and will be livestreamed here.

Following her remarks, Ambassador Tai will participate in a fireside chat with Patrick Gaspard, President and Chief Executive Officer of CAP.
