DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE 
FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2022

In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.

After, the President and G7 Leaders will hold a virtual meeting to discuss their unwavering commitment to support Ukraine and hold Putin accountable in the face of Russia’s aggression and atrocities, including Russia’s recent missile strikes across Ukraine. President Zelenskyy of Ukraine will join Leaders at the top of the meeting. This meeting in the Roosevelt Room will be closed press.

The President will deliver virtual remarks at the Summit on Fire Prevention and Control addressing the nation’s fire service leaders, commemorating Fire Prevention Week, honoring the bravery and heroism of our nation’s firefighters, and discussing efforts to protect our communities and ensure firefighter health and safety amidst the ongoing climate crisis. 

The President will participate in a virtual reception for Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester. This event will be virtual.

Tuesday –  Secretary Janet L. Yellen holds bilateral meetings with representatives of Ukraine, India.and Indonesia, also hosting a group of finance ministers from Africa for dinner, part of a series of bilateral meetings being held with finance ministers in Washington for the IMF-World Bank fall meeting.

STATE DEPARTMENT

Tuesday – Having held bilateral calls Monday with the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Armenia, Secty Blinken will participate in Tuesday’s emergency G-7 heads-of-state meeting in which Pres Biden will participate..

At 9:50 AM CT, Ambassador Katherine Tai will participate in an on-stage conversation at the 64th National Association for Business Economics (NABE) Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois with Juhi Dhawan, Senior Managing Director and Global Macroanalyst at Wellington Management.  Ambassador Tai will discuss the Biden-Harris Administration’s trade agenda and how President Biden’s economic accomplishments — from investing in critical semiconductor technology to passing a historic infrastructure bill to the Inflation Reduction Act – will benefit American workers, lower costs for consumers, and make the United States more competitive abroad.
