WEEK AHEAD GUIDANCE FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 11, 2022 – APRIL 15, 2022 Thursday, April 14, 2022 The President will travel to Greensboro, North Carolina to discuss his Administration’s efforts to make more in America, rebuild our supply chains here at home, and bring down costs for the American people as part of Building a Better America. US TREASURY At 10 AM, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will deliver remarks on the way forward for the global economy in the wake of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine. At an event hosted by the Atlantic Council one week before the world’s finance ministers and central bank governors convene in Washington for the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings, Secretary Yellen will discuss unmet global challenges that would benefit from greater cooperation in the years ahead. Following her speech, Secretary Yellen will participate in a conversation with Financial Times global business columnist and associate editor Rana Foroohar. This event is open to the press and available via livestream. STATE DEPARTMENT In person press briefings, when held, are schedule for around 2p ET. |

On Wednesday, April 13, Ambassador Katherine Tai will visit Portland, Oregon. She will participate in events with Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden, Senator Jeff Merkley, and Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. Ambassador Tai will tour a commercial fishing vessel and participate in a roundtable on Oregon’s fishing industry. This event is open press.
Ambassador Tai will tour an Intel facility in Hillsboro, Oregon and join a roundtable on semiconductor manufacturing. The tour is closed press and there will be a press gaggle with Ambassador Tai, Chairman Wyden, Senator Merkley, and Congresswoman Bonamici following the roundtable.
