In the evening, the President and the First Lady will host a dinner for the Secretary of Defense, the Deputy Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commanders, and their spouses in the Blue Room. This dinner will be closed press.

Friday, April 22, 2022
On Earth Day, the President will travel to Seattle, Washington to discuss his Administration’s efforts to continue bringing down costs for American families and tackling the climate crisis.
US TREASURY Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will represent the United States at the G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting and select sessions of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting in Washington, D.C. Secretary Yellen will make clear to her counterparts she stands firmly alongside the people of Ukraine as they defend their lives and their country. The Secretary will demonstrate her commitment to working with our partners and allies to support Ukraine’s economic needs in the short and long term, and will use her meetings this week to galvanize support. Both Secretary Yellen and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo, who is representing the U.S. at IMF-World Bank Fund meetings this week, will reinforce the U.S. commitment to multilateralism and advance U.S. policy priorities on an inclusive economic recovery. They will work with their counterparts to advance global tax policy as a part of a foreign policy for the middle class, combat the climate crisis, strengthen the global health architecture, and address the growing global food security crisis resulting of Russia’s brutal and illegal war against Ukraine. The Secretary, the Deputy Secretary, and our allies will continue their united efforts to increase economic pressure on Russia while mitigating spillover effects.
