White House and Other Schedules for Wednesday, Aug 10

WASHINGTON (MaceNews) – The following are Wednesday’s schedules for the White House, Treasury, USTR, the State Department and Capitol Hill as well as US data and Federal Reserve events:   

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2022

 
In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed press.
 
The President will deliver remarks and sign into law S. 3373, the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promises to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act of 2022. This bill will expand access to VA health care and benefits for toxic exposed veterans and their survivors, improve care and increase research related to toxic exposures, and provide VA with important resources to serve veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors. The Secretary of the Interior, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Secretary of Transportation, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and the Secretary of Homeland Security will attend. This event in the East Room will be open to pre-credentialed media and pooled for TV.

In the afternoon, the President and the First Lady will travel to Charleston, South Carolina. The departure from the White House be covered by the in-town travel pool. The departure from Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at Charleston Air Force Base will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at Charleston Executive Airport will covered by the out-of-town pool.

Wednesday – At 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET, Ambassador Katherine Tai will speak at the 2022 United Steelworkers Constitutional Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ambassador Tai will discuss how the Biden Administration’s economic and trade policies are creating sustainable, resilient, and inclusive growth while helping the United States maintain its global competitive edge in the 21st century. This event will be livestreamed at convention.usw.org.

STATE DEPARTMENT

Wednesday –  Secty Blinken is on a three-nation tour of Africa which began  in Johannesburg after attending the  Phnom Penh  ASEAN summit.  He’s now traveling from Kinshasha in the Democratic Republic of Congo to his final stop next door in Rwanda.. 

US HOUSE

In August recess to be interrupted Friday with a session devoted to passing the health care, climate and tax reconciliation package passed over the past weekend by the Senate.
