The President will travel to East Palestine, Ohio.
The President will receive an operational briefing from officials on the continuing response and recovery efforts.
The President will discuss how the Administration is holding Norfolk Southern accountable for the derailment and is working with state and local officials to support the community as it moves forward. The President will discuss his commitment to ensuring the people of East Palestine are not defined by this single event, and that his administration is delivering on the needs of affected families, businesses, and residents.
The President will depart East Palestine, Ohio en route to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

TREASURY DEPT –
Wednesday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will travel to Detroit, Michigan, for events highlighting how the Biden Administration’s Investing in America agenda is supporting small businesses and creating economic opportunity across the country. While in Detroit, Secretary Yellen will participate in events with community members, elected officials, and business leaders to discuss how President Biden’s economic agenda impacts the local community and economy.
At 12:20 PM, Secretary Yellen will join Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer for a fireside conversation hosted by the Detroit Economic Club. This event is open press. At 2:30 PM, Secretary Yellen will tour Newlab at Michigan Central, which connects start-ups with established companies, government entities, and innovators to spur economic development and organize investment in new technologies in urban transportation solutions. After the tour, Secretary Yellen will participate in a roundtable with U.S. Senator Stabenow and local entrepreneurs and business leaders. The tour is open to pooled press and there will be a spray at the beginning of the roundtable for Secretary Yellen and Senator Stabenow’s opening comments. The remainder of the roundtable is closed press.
Following the roundtable, at 4:00 PM, Secretary Yellen will deliver remarks on the small business boom in the U.S. economy under the Biden Administration – with a record 16 million new business applications since President Biden took – the importance of small businesses to the U.S. economy and the Biden Administration’s work to support small businesses across the country.
