Wednesday – Secty Blinken has returned to the Middle East for the fifth time, visiting Saudi Arabia Monday then on Tuesday,, Egypt’s Pres El-Sisi, then Qatar and today, Israel and the West Bank through Thursday. Headquarters press briefings, when held on weekdays, occur around 1:15p ET and are livestreamed at State.gov.
USTR –
Wednesday – Ambassador Katherine Tai will be in Chicago, Illinois. She will participate in a virtual G7 Trade Ministers’ meeting. This meeting is closed press.
Ambassador Tai will participate in a roundtable discussion with small business owners. Opening remarks for the roundtable discussion is open press.
At 10:00 AM ET, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and the Interagency Committee for Trade in Automotive Goods (“Committee”) will hold a hearing to receive public comments about the operation of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) with respect to trade in automotive goods. This hearing is part of USTR’s statutory biennial review of autos-related issues under the USMCA.
Witnesses will present direct testimony, which will be followed by questions from the Committee and USTR.
The hearing is open to the public and will be live streamed at: ustr.gov/live. The witness list for the hearing is available here. A transcript will be available after the hearing concludes.
