US TREASURY

Wednesday – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will tour Dinokeng Game Reserve in Hammanskraal, South Africa to highlight the work that the Treasury Department is doing to combat illegal wildlife trafficking and illicit finance, as well as to support accountable institutions. During this event, Secretary Yellen will participate in a roundtable discussion and will deliver brief remarks. Both the roundtable and the tour will be open to pre-approved media.

Ambassador Tai will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
 
At 9:00 AM, Ambassador Tai will provide opening remarks during the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) Economic Summit at Philadelphia City Hall.  Ambassador Tai will be joined by Isabel Guzman, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration; Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney; and Krystal Ka‘ai, Executive Director of WHIAANHPI.  This event is open press and will be live streamed.
 
At 12:45 PM, Ambassador Tai will deliver keynote remarks at a meeting of the World Affairs Council Philadelphia on how the Biden-Harris Administration has delivered on its worker-centered trade policy over the last two years.  Following her remarks, Ambassador Tai will participate in a fireside conversation with Rachel Carsen, President and CEO of Helicopter Tech, Inc., a local business and exporter.  This conversation will focus on how trade can benefit small businesses and the importance of resilient supply chains to consumers and entrepreneurs.  This event is open to pre-registered, in-person media.  More information can be found on the World Affairs Council website.
