White House and Other Schedules for Wednesday, May 11

WASHINGTON (MaceNews)—The following are Wednesday’s schedules for the White House, Treasury, USTR, the State Department and Capitol Hill as well as US data and Federal Reserve events: 

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
WEDNESDAY, MAY 11, 2022
 

In the morning, the President will travel to Chicago, Illinois. The departure from the South Lawn will be open press and pooled for TV. The departure from Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival at Chicago O’Hare International Airport will be open press.
 
In the afternoon, the President will visit a family farm to discuss the impact of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine on food supply and prices at home and abroad, and the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to give farmers the tools and resources they need to boost domestic food production. This tour in Kankakee, Illinois will be covered by the out-of-town pool.
 
Then, the President will deliver remarks on Putin’s Price Hike and his Administration’s actions to support farmers and food processors, lower their costs and lower prices for families. These remarks at the family farm in Kankakee, Illinois will be open press.
 
Later, the President will address the 40th International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) International Convention in Chicago, Illinois. These remarks at the McCormick Place will be pooled press.
 
In the evening, the President will participate in a fundraising reception for the Democratic National Committee in Chicago, Illinois. This event will be covered by the restricted out-of-town travel pool and the out-of-town travel pool will accompany.

After, the President will return to the White House from Chicago, Illinois. The departure from Chicago O’Hare International Airport will be open press. The departure from Joint Base Andrews will be covered by the out-of-town pool. The arrival to the South Lawn will be open press and pooled for TV.

The President will welcome the Leaders of ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretary-General to the White House for a dinner as part of the U.S.-ASEAN Special Summit. The Summit will commemorate 45 years of U.S.-ASEAN relations and strengthen ASEAN’s central role in delivering sustainable solutions to the region’s most pressing challenges.

The President will participate in the U.S.-ASEAN Special Summit at the Department of State.

In the evening, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will attend the Atlantic Council’s Distinguished Leadership Awards event in Washington DC. The Secretary will introduce honoree, Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi. Registration for the event is available here.

Wednesday   On Wednesday, May 11, Ambassador Katherine Tai will join a fireside chat as part of the Asian American Real Estate Association of America’s 2022 Diversity & Fair Housing Summit. This event begins at 10:25 AM ET and more information can be found here.

Ambassador Tai and Ambassador Sarah Bianchi will meet with Indonesian Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi. This meeting is closed press.
